Privacy policy
Brieferr reads the work tools a company connects, so it can keep that company’s board up to date. This page says what we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted.
Last updated 25 October 2026.
Who we are
Brieferr is for companies, not for individuals. Questions about this policy go to founder@brieferr.com.
When a company connects its tools, that company decides what Brieferr reads. We process that data on the company’s behalf and only to run Brieferr for it.
What we collect
- Asking for early access. Your email, name and role, the tools your team uses, your team size and, if you write it, what bothers you today.
- Signing in. Your email and password. Accounts are by invite only.
- Connected tools. From the channels, boards and meetings an admin picks: message text, who wrote it and when, ticket titles and status, pull request state, meeting transcripts and document text. We also store names and work emails of the people in those tools, so a message can be matched to its author.
- Using Brieferr. The questions you ask and the answers you get, your clicks on cards (such as Accept or Not right), your weekly report settings, and when you last used Brieferr.
Why we use it
- To show where each piece of work really stands.
- To draft board updates, which change nothing until a person approves them.
- To answer the questions your team asks, with the sources.
- To keep the service running, secure and working well.
We never compute, store or show a score, ranking or count about a person. Brieferr reports on work, never on people.
Who can see it
- Each company’s data is kept apart from every other company’s.
- Messages from a private channel are visible in Brieferr only to people in that channel. If we can’t tell who is in it, nobody sees them.
- The questions you ask in Brieferr are visible only to you.
How long we keep it
- Message text is erased after 90 days, or after the period your company sets.
- The extra raw data a tool sends with each message is erased after 30 days.
- Disconnect a tool, or uninstall Brieferr from Slack, and its access is removed at once. What we stored from that tool is erased 7 days later, so reconnecting by mistake loses nothing.
- Delete a message in Slack, and Brieferr erases it too.
- Encrypted backups are kept for 7 days, then deleted.
- Early-access details are kept until you ask us to delete them.
How we protect it
- Access tokens for your tools are encrypted.
- Backups are encrypted.
- Only admins can connect or disconnect a tool.
- Our logs record error codes, never message text, names or tokens.
Cookies
We use only the cookies Brieferr needs to work: one to keep you signed in, one to remember your time zone, and short-lived ones while you connect a tool. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data, or to delete your company’s whole workspace. Email founder@brieferr.com. If your company uses Brieferr, it decides what Brieferr reads, so we may pass your request to your company’s admin.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we’ll tell the companies using Brieferr first.
